In a world that often feels overwhelming and complex, I've come to find comfort in less is more. I just turned 30 and it’s had me reflecting on decisions I’ve made that have led me to where I am now. I’ve dedicated so much love, time, effort, and finances to my business and my romantic relationship that I never made the choice to buy a house, or start having children. I feel like I’m behind in ways, especially because social media has a way of making us all feel like we are in a race. In some ways I feel so happy with the idea of following my own messy path and avoiding chasing after the idea of wanting more. I've found fulfillment in paring back, in stripping away the excess to reveal the beauty of simplicity.
I've been on a journey of creating without boundaries, and of following my passions wherever they may lead. I’ve been a photographer, writer, social media manager, production assistant, photo assistant, stylist, wardrobe assist, a cinematographer, and continue to expand into realms that interest me. I’ve made labels less important, and I'm allowing myself the freedom to explore, to experiment, and to grow.
Yet, it feels wrong not to acknowledge the weight of the world's challenges, particularly when it comes to our environmental and human crises. Some days, it feels as though the future is so daunting. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and following where my heart leads me.
For me, creativity is more than just a means of expression – it's a place of refuge, a sanctuary in which I can find peace amidst the chaos. It's where I can channel my hopes, fears, and dreams into something tangible, something meaningful.
As I navigate this journey, I invite you to join me. Let's embrace the beauty of the small daily moments like the first sip of your morning beverage, or a walk by the water at sunset.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. Here's to embracing less, creating more, and finding solace in the beauty of our shared humanity.
With gratitude and warmth,
